EPIPHANY

LOCAL COMMUNITY

NATIONALLY & GLOBALLY

Worship Teams

Meaningful worship happens only with the assistance and passion of many willing, capable hands. Multiple teams serve on Sunday mornings at both locations in the following areas:
  • Hospitality: Greeter, host/hostess and holiday parking attendant
  • Worship: Usher, acolyte, lay reader, communion prep and server
  • Audio Visual: Sound system and projector slide operator
  • Sunday School: Teachers share God’s word and Christ’s message with all ages

Food & Clothing Pantry

The Pantry is a supplemental, emergency resource providing nutritious non-perishable food, personal care items, gently-used clothing, and household items where social workers from more than 40 social service agencies in the Miami Valley can find support for their clients. These agencies work with families who need food and clothing for their children, families who have lost everything due to a fire or eviction, children with medical handicaps, and other problems.

Haitian Timoun Foundation

The Haitian Timoun Foundation is a high impact, clearly focused, grassroots movement that has been bringing hope, sustainability, and dignity to the children and people of Haiti for more than 10 years. HTF partners in education, economic development, community engagement, and local leadership to invest in children and to eradicate ultra poverty.

Prayer Chain

Prayer cannot be overestimated. At Epiphany, prayer is a central activity of our life together. Through prayer, God gives us the opportunity to take all our cares, concerns, and joys to Him. Throughout the week, we pray for our members, friends, family, neighbors, nation and God’s world. If you would like us to lift you or someone you know up in prayer, Epiphany has a dedicated prayer team and a prayer chapel.

Homeless & Hungry

In addition to our emergency Food & Clothing Pantry, Epiphany’s presence in the community gives our church many opportunities to extend Christ’s love to our neighbors. We seek to love and serve our neighbors who are homeless, hungry or in need of a helping hand. Learn more about:

World Relief and Hunger

Epiphany participates in Lutheran World Relief, ELCA Relief and Development and Samaritan’s Purse programs to help fight world hunger and provide for other needs of God’s people. Most recently, the congregation has supported response efforts to natural disasters and the following initiatives:

Middle East & Europe Refugee Crisis
Operation Christmas Child
Malaria Campaign
Baskets of Promise

Good Gifts

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. Share your gifts through Epiphany’s music ministry including the choir, praise band, bell choir, puppets, or as a cantor, instrumentalist, or participant in a drama or play.

Children & Families

We believe that family is central to the health of the community, and we strive to support programs that help families to support the health, wellness and development of their children. Fostering partnerships with area agencies and community groups is a critically important mission in the sharing the love and compassion of Christ. Learn more about:

Global Mission

Epiphany has long had substantial commitments to Global Mission, primarily through financial and personnel support for the extensive Global Mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  Epiphany is currently planning for a mission trip to Haiti, and in the past, multiple mission trips have been made to partners in Tanzania, Germany, India, Uganda, Russia, and Slovakia. Significant support has also been delivered to the Lutheran Church in Kazakhstan. Epiphany members have also accepted long-term calls to work in churches in Russia and Germany.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. Our indoor worship services are enhanced by audio-visual technology, and a weekly sermon is uploaded to our website in audio format. We maintain a dynamic website, an active email service and Facebook feed for additional church communication.

Elderly, Sick & Shut-In

Please contact

Pastor Charlie Woodward or Pastor Jay Shailer or call (937) 433-1449 to share hospitalizations, so we can pray and arrange visitations.

The Hospital Visitors’ Team visits members who are hospitalized, praying with and for them, and sharing the love of Christ, inviting His healing touch.

Epiphany also serves the following:

Bethany Village
Blood Drives

Global Partner Congregations

Epiphany has established and maintained partner congregational relationships on three continents: Immani Lutheran in Mwanza, Tanzania, and with Dabel and Pritzier in Mecklenburg, Germany. Epiphany also sponsors a 10-concert tour of Ohio congregations for the Gotha Handbell Choir (founded in Gotha, Germany) when they are in the United States.
