Children’s Ministry

14(Jesus said,) “Let the children come to me; do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. 15Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.” 16And he took them up in his arms, laid his hands on them, and blessed them.

Mark 10:13-16

As a community of faith, Epiphany offers various ministries to help nurture family relationships through the different stages of life. We focus on how we can help foster a child’s faith journey through worship, learning, service, and fellowship. We strive to support parents and caregivers in living out their baptismal promise to help their children grow in the Christian faith and life. Programming includes first communion classes, Sunday morning education opportunities and children’s choirs that perform in worship, as well as events such as Tween Nights, Movie Nights, and Late-Night Lock-In.

Not only does Epiphany believe children belong in worship, we believe children belong in worship serving roles! On three Sundays this fall, we extend a special invitation to children and youth to help in worship. Possible roles include:

  • Ushers (young children with caregiver; youth) – hand out bulletins, pass offering baskets, dismiss rows for communion
  • Communion servers (young children with caregiver; older children; youth)
  • Assisting minister roles – scripture readings, prayer readings (older children; youth)

Serving in worship does NOT require a long-term commitment. Our campus coordinators are always looking for willing worship helpers to participate when they are able! While children and youth are encouraged to serve in worship on any given Sunday, these Sundays have a special focus on our young people:

  • October 2
  • November 13
  • December 4
If a child/youth under your care is able to take a role in one or more of these Sundays, please contact a campus coordinator! For Far Hills, email Jennifer Henderson for more information. Jennifer gladly trains young people in their duties and would be thrilled to hear from you! For Austin Campus, email Brittany Albert – she is always looking for helpers of all ages.

Friday, October 7
7-9 PM
Austin Campus
Kids ages 9-12 can hang out and choose what they want to do: stream a movie, play games, make art or bracelets, or just talk.
No signup needed.
A current parental consent form must be on file for each child.
