Join Pastor Karl Biermann and the Adult Sunday School class to explore the surprising senses of a word that we always thought we knew. Hint: The word “God” doesn’t necessarily mean “good!” Class meets Sundays, April 7-28, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 13 (lower level).  The course will be offered via Zoom and/or in person.  All adults and teens are welcome.

Not Necessarily “Good” – God’s Surprising Name!

The Word of God in Scripture describes God’s creating, healing, and empowering action in our lives and all creation. We also see God’s Word working in Jesus’ self-giving love and in our own acts of love, service, and care.
But what does the word “God” itself mean?
How are changes in understandings of that meaning over the centuries impacting our lives today?

Pastor Karl, his wife Lana, and two teenagers are excited to be Epiphany members. They live in Centerville, where Pastor Karl serves as ELCA Foundation regional gift planner (legacy and generosity advisor) for Indiana, Kentucky, and Southern Ohio.
