Children & Families

Families are truly a gift from God. From marriage to parenting, family is a core value of Epiphany. As a community of faith, Epiphany offers various ministries to help nurture family relationships through the different stages of life. As a child grows in years, Epiphany’s life-learning ministries help equip them with the knowledge and provide a foundation of Biblical principles and values. Through outreach and service opportunities, children model the passion to serve God, share their faith, and make a difference in the world. Through fellowship, children and families develop nurturing life-long relationships with fellow believers.

Parents’ Night Out

Children Ages 2 months – 3rd Grade
Let us give you a break! Parents, this is your opportunity to have a “night out” while your children are having a great time in a safe environment! It is also “Kid’s Night Out” because the kids are having fun with caring, engaging adults and other children as they play games, create crafts, meet new friends, watch movies, and enjoy snacks.
Parent’s Night Out evenings are offered three times a year on a Friday from 6-9 p.m. in February, September/October and December. Spots fill up fast for this popular event!

Designed especially for Grades 3 – 5, kids come on a Friday evening and enjoy a sleepover at the church. This faith-fellowship includes engaging activities planned around a particular theme connected to a faith topic or Bible story. Plus kid-friendly food, games, “Underground Church,” a movie, and breakfast on Saturday morning.

Lock-In Lite

Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade get a preview Lock-In without the sleepover. This Friday evening of fellowship and faith-building includes food, fun, friendship, and activities centered around a faith theme.

Family Fellowship & Events

Family-friendly activities are provided throughout the year where families and people of all ages and stages of life come together in Christian fellowship. We invite all adults to participate. Some of our most popular events include our Bunny Hop 5K/10K and Easter Celebration, the Fall Family Fun Festival in October, dinner groups for families with young children, Family Friday Nights (Grill Nights in the summer), Family Super Football Party, and more.

Music & Drama

There are many options for children to express themselves through the arts at Epiphany. There are three Children’s Choirs for ages 3 through 6th grade, our puppet ministry, the summer musical, and our Children’s Christmas Musical.

Service Opportunities

Children are offered several opportunities through the year to live out Epiphany’s purpose of loving Jesus by serving others. These experiences provide a foundation for faith formation and fellowship. Examples of a few service events include Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse, Christmas caroling at Bethany Village and spring clean-up and service projects.

First Communion Classes

The gift of grace through Holy Communion is given to the gathered Body of Christ, the baptized. At the baptismal font, parents make promises to bring their children to the services of God’s house. It is here that the means of grace — baptism, communion and proclamation of the Word — are offered. No level of mental, spiritual, or emotional maturity can make one worthy or prepared to receive the grace of Christ through communion. It is a gift for the baptized.
The age of First Communion has been revised to whenever a child’s parent feels that the child is ready to receive this gift. First communion classes are offered each spring, with First Communion celebrated on Mother’s Day.

Vacation Bible School

Epiphany’s inter-generational Vacation Bible School (VBS) takes place every summer, usually in the evenings during the second week of June. There is something for everyone at VBS, from opportunities to serve to classes for children and adults. Child care is available for parents who are on site serving or learning.
