Austin Campus Patio Project

Austin Patio Project Complete!                                                               April 9, 2019
It is with great appreciation that we thank the entire Epiphany community and the Apple Tree Society for their support, as well as the many hands that worked to make the Austin Patio Project a reality. New commercial grade patio furniture, umbrellas and a grill have revitalized the Austin patio. The space is ready to welcome Epiphany members and guests as a Christ-centered destination this spring and for many seasons to come. We look forward to celebrating all that God has done and welcoming the community to enjoy the updated space at the Bunny Hop on Saturday, April 20. We hope that you’ll be there! Thanks be to God!

It’s been wonderful to witness God’s hand at work in the expansion and growth of Epiphany Lutheran Church this past year through the completion of projects that will continue to help Epiphany carry out the mission to Love Jesus by Serving Others. The effects of our growth and its energy can be seen throughout both campuses. One place that God’s work in this community can be experienced is on the grounds of the Austin Campus.
During the warmer months, there is hardly a day that goes by without some sort of outdoor activity or event. Many in our community utilize the soccer and baseball fields for regularly scheduled practices and games. Have you ever seen the crowds that the lighted sand volleyball courts draw on summer evenings? The annual Bunny Hop and Fall Family Fun Fest attract ever-increasing crowds from our community each year. Epiphany’s youth groups find no shortage of fun in the fields of the Austin Campus, while the playground is a hotspot for Epiphany’s youngest after Sunday services, all year-round.
With all of this activity and opportunity for fellowship, there’s one area of the Austin Campus outdoor space that is in desperate need of attention.
The original consumer-grade patio furniture has served Epiphany well, but over time, the elements have taken their toll. Most of the furniture is no longer functional or has deteriorated beyond repair, making it difficult for groups to gather comfortably.

With approval from Church Council and the gracious support from The Apple Tree Society, a project has been “fast-tracked” with a goal to revitalize the Austin patio, returning it to its former glory and beyond!

The Austin Patio Project hopes to deliver long-lasting, commercial-grade patio furniture to accommodate approximately 130 people by this Spring.
The proposed plan includes new shade umbrellas, eight-foot picnic-style tables, 46-inch round tables, ADA-compliant tables, and a couple kid-size tables, all with built-in benches, as well as a commercial-grade, portable propane grill.
This congregation-wide project has a goal to raise $18,000 by the end of February through direct donations online or by check with “Austin Patio” in the memo. The Apple Tree Society has generously agreed to match 100 percent of all donations up to $9,000.
Giving status will begin to be reported on this page after February 10. Giving toward the project appears to have improved this week, but we still have quite a way to go. Please consider helping to make this project a success. Remember that any amount matters and is doubled with Apple Tree Society matching up to $9,000.
These are exciting times at Epiphany, and we thank the Lord for providing this opportunity to give those in our community another reason to gather at Epiphany and connect with Christ.
